November 27: Bot Update: Contact Source Details Available Inside Bot Flow

What was happening earlier?

● The bot could only access CTWA (Click-to-WhatsApp Ad) details like Source URL and Source ID during the chat session and only when the conversation was assigned to the bot.

What’s new now?

● These CTWA details (Source URL and Source ID) are now saved directly in the contact’s profile.

● This means the bot can use these details at any time during the flow, not just during the active session.

Why does this help?

● Bots can tailor responses better based on where the customer came from.

● You can use these source details in conditions, messages, or routing inside your bot flow.

Step-by-step guide on how it works?

  1. A customer clicks a CTWA ad and starts a conversation.

  2. The system automatically saves the ad’s Source URL and Source ID in the contact details.

  3. When building a bot flow, you can now use these fields anywhere.

  4. The bot can personalize logic or messages based on these details.
